Meet Flight presenter and serial entrepreneur Blake Squires
So, either Blake Squires is significantly older than he looks or “serial entrepreneur” is an understatement. That’s worth noting because when he kicks off Flight, Blake brings with him the lessons and insights he’s accumulated from founding and growing seven startups that range from streaming media to a non-electric razor designed to preserve the perfect stubble when you groom that manly face art.
As a founding member of Hatch, which helps entrepreneurs make connections and find capital, he’s not only an experienced founder but practiced at coaching others find success. Of course, he’s still pursuing more of his own success, which is evident with the medical supply ordering system Doctors Orders and Stubl, his latest, the aforementioned non-electric razor based right here in Akron.
Best yet, he’s pursued this impressive career as an entrepreneur without sacrificing his home life with his wife, Michelle, and their four children. In fact, at times, the two worlds overlap beautifully. Late last year, Blake sold his second startup, Movable, a group fitness tracking company that was inspired by Michelle. Along the way, he’s earned recognition from Crain’s Cleveland, which named him one of the “40 Most Influential People Under 40” and in 2010, he was an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. Not to mention that Findaway, which he co-founded as Adcoda and then helped scale as Chief Strategy Officer, was named to the Inc 500 several years in a row.
Blake can’t promise you the same personal and professional triumphs he’s experienced but we promise you’ll learn a lot about making your dreams real when you meet him and the other incredible entrepreneurs at Flight!
